KALADY: The newly constructed nadapanthal and gopuram of Sree Karthyayani Devi Temple at Manickamangalam here will be opened to the devotees on Wednesday.

Temple tantri Puliyannoor Manackal Anujan Namboodiripadu will be the chief celebrant of the special poojas to be held in this connection.

A public meeting in this regard will be inaugurated by NSS general secretary P K Narayana Panicker at 4 p.m.

Aluva Taluk NSS Karayogam union president A B Viswanatha Menon will preside over the meet.

The website of the temple will be inaugurated by Transport Minister Jose Thettayil. K P Dhanapalan MP will deliver the keynote address.

The nadapanthal and gopuram were designed by renowned Thachu Sastra scholar Vezhaparambil Mana Bhramadathan Namaboodiri.

The nadapanthal is built on an area of 4000 square feet and is erected on 16 pillars.

The construction of the twostoreyed gopuram, built in 2500 square feet, was supervised by Kurumassery Kallatt Puthenpurayil Sathyapalan.

An amount of `25 lakh was spent for constructing the gopuram.
