KALPETTA:  There is no doubt that the land in the illegal possession of M V Shreyamskumar MLA in the Krishnagiri village of Sulthan Bathery taluk is government land, C K Saseendran, CPM district secretary said here in a press conference on Wednesday.

A sequel to the press conference called by M V Shreyamskumar MLA, leader of Socialist Janatha (Democratic) the other day at Kozhikode, C K Saseendran said that there are many government documents, findings of officials and verdicts of courts substantiating the allegation that the

land in possession of Shreyamskumar is government land.

“Shreyamskumar has only said that he never encroached into the land, but not his forefathers,” he said.

By accepting that the land came under the possession of his great grandfather through the ‘Grow More Food’ project, Shreyams himself accepted that the land is government’s, Saseendran said.

As per the project farmers can avail the land only for 11 months that too for cultivating food crops, he pointed out.

To cultivate for next year it is mandatory to renew the lease agreement, Saseendran said.

CPM leader K V Mohanan also participated in the press conference.
