THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Tablet PC for Rs 5,399 inclusive of all taxes. Meet ‘Attitude Daksha’, a seven-inch tablet variant launched here on Tuesday by Telmoco Development Labs Pvt Ltd, a Technopark Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI) incubated firm.
The product launch was announced in the presence of Technopark chief finance officer Dr K C Chandrasekharan Nair and technical officer Sreejith S. The tablet PC will be available in the market within a short period, they said.
Daksha features Capacitive 5 point touch screen with 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 Processor with 512 MB DDRE RAM. It has a HDMI PORT, micro SD Slot, 3.5 mm audio out, micro USB port. Daksha is capable of high definition video streaming and has a dedicated 400 MHz GPU for advanced flash Apps, interactive Apps and full HD video. It is powered by 3,800 mAh Li-Pol battery which gives a back-up of over six hours with WiFi on.
Daksha is way ahead of Aakash 2 recently launched by the government in terms of features and performance, Daksha’s developers claim. “It is not a low-cost device, but a high performance device with low cost,” Dr K C C Nair said.
“With Daksha, we plan to bid for Aakash 2 because with the government subsidy and mass production it can really compete with aakash 2. Moreover, the product is developed by an incubate of Technopark, Kerala, which is supported bythe Department of Science and Technology,” he said.With Daksha, Telmoco plans to foray into the low-cost tablet market in a big way.
The company is promoted by Nijesh C R, Aadith Bose and Kalpa. “The tablet market in India is a niche market which is picking up. With growing number of affordable tablets, the popularly of budget-sensitive consumers in expected to increase manifold,” Nijesh C R, who is chairman and executive director, said.
