THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Devaswom and Transport Minister V S Sivakumar said that the State  Government had allotted `15 crore to the Sabarimala Infrastructure Development Committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar.

In a statement issued here on Monday, the Minister said that in the absence of the Sabarimala Master Plan there had been a situation hostile to providing facilities to the pilgrims for the past few years. But ever since the UDF Government came to power it has resolved to implement the Master Plan in a time-bound manner.

As part of the master plan, the construction of the Bailey Bridge and sector queue complex were undertaken during the last season. The construction of the bridge was completed and 90 percent works of the queue complex were completed.

Sivakumar claimed that probably it was for the first time that government fund was made available for development works at Sabarimala. The Minister said more works would be completed before the next season.
