The major cause of corruption is the loss of a general sense of belonging, he said. Anandolsavam witnessed a huge gathering of people from all walks of life across the state.

Ravishankar arrived at Anandolsavam 2013 with Chendamangalam Unnikrishna Marar and his troupe. Ravishankar asked his devotees to take pledge for protecting women and environment and act against social evils like suicide.

“God is not in heavens, but in nature, and we must love and protect it,” he said. Ravishankar expressed concern over the increasing habit of alcohol consumption among the people of Kerala, and called for a drug-free society.

“Alcoholism is the main culprit behind most of the problems in the world,” he said. He added that knowledge was the key to sustaining life on Earth, and all must take initiatives to spread the light of knowledge.

On the occasion, Boby Chemmanur was honoured by  Ravishankar for his humanitarian works. The event, which was aired in 46 countries across the globe, was attended by Dr Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan, Anwar Sadar MLA, Justice K K Shekharan, Public Works Minister Ebrahim Kunju and Municipal chairman M T Jacob.
