Cabinet rejig crisis to end soon: Mistry

With the meeting between Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala on Wednesday failing to make any headway regarding the induction of the latter into the Cabinet, the ball is now back in the Congress high command’s court.

The high command will take a decision regarding the Kerala affairs only in consultation with senior Congress leader and Defence Minister A K Antony after his return from foreign tour.

Meanwhile, both Chandy and Ramesh have conveyed the details of their meeting to Congress general secretary in-charge of Kerala affairs Madhusudan Mistry.

Mistry reportedly assured them that a solution to the impasse would be reached at the earliest.

However, he remained tight-lipped  regarding his consultations with both the leaders.

However, it is learnt that Ramesh may meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi soon to discuss the issue.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker P J Kurien and Minister State for Food and Civil Supplies K V Thomas met Sonia separately and discussed the issues in the state Congress with her.

Kurien said that if Ramesh is being inducted into the State Cabinet he should be given the high profile Home portfolio.
