Man drowns in TN theme park

In a tragic incident near Rasipuram, a newly wed young man drowned after diving into a swimming pool at a theme park on Thursday. According to police sources, the deceased was identified as Aneesh, 29, a resident of Adaikalathur House, Mullaseri, Thrissur. He had dived off a wooden plank into the water and failed to surface. Xavier, a relative, with the help of others in the park, jumped into the pool to help Aneesh out. Although Aneesh was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Salem, he died on the way.

The deceased had came to the theme park, ‘Paravasa Ulagam’, located by the side of NH-7 near Mallur, along with his wife Dany. They were accompanied by V Xavier, a railway employee working in Salem, his wife Sheena and their two children. “When we were enjoying at the wave pool, Aneesh went for a dive. He did not come up after jumping into the water. We got into the pool to help him”, a shocked Xavier told ‘Express’.

The jolly trip turned tragic after the death of Aneesh whose marriage with Dany was held on 26 May. Aneesh was running a foundry while his wife is a pharmacist. “The newly-wed couple came to our house on Wednesday. And we thought of going for a jolly tip to the theme park. But unfortunately we lost Aneesh”, Xavier said. Aneesh’s body was handed over to relatives after an autopsy conducted at the Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital. The Vennandur police have registered a case.
