Saritha S Nair had duped several planters in Idukki district, by offering windmill power plants at cheap rates. She introduced herself as Lakshmi Nair, along with husband Biju Radhakrishnan, and swindled money in the name of an illegal company called Team Solar Renewable Energy Solutions. The duo defrauded N Murugesan, a cardamom farmer and resident of Cumbum, Tamil Nadu, off about `10 lakh by offering two wind mills. Murugesan told Express that he had come to know about the company through a newspaper ad last year. “Given that power supply is poor in Idukki, I decided to accept their offer for setting up two windmills to operate dryers for the processing of cardamom”, said Murugesan.
