CPM, CPI want CM's resignation

Express News Service

CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI state secretary Panniyan Raveendran have demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and urged a judicial probe into the link between the Chief Minister’s office and solar panel fraudster Saritha S Nair. In a statement issued here on Friday, Pinarayi said that the Chief Minister himself had admitted his personal staff members’ relation with Saritha. He said the Chief Minister’s office became a shelter for fraudsters involved in fraud worth crores of rupees. “Removal of two personal staff members alone will not help in exposing the real culprits in this case,” Pinarayi said. “The Government Chief Whip had stated that he had informed the Chief Minister about what had been going on between the CM’s personal staff members and Saritha. But he didn’t initiate any step to book the culprits”, he said.
