A remand prisoner who was admitted to Medical College Hospital here and who attempted to commit suicide last October, died at the hospital in the wee hours of Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Deepu, 35, of Idathumoola Colony, Thannimmood, Avanakuzhi, Neyyatinkara. Police said that Deepu was accused in the killing of his wife Bindu. He was remanded at the District sub-jail in December 2011 in the case. He was shifted to Special sub-jail, Neyyattinkara, in January 2012. He jumped from the third floor of the Additional Sessions Court, Neyyatinkara, when he was brought from sub-jail to be presented before the court. Neyyattinkara police had registered a case for suicide attempt against him following this.
