Girls continued to fare better than boys with 95.63 per cent clearing the exam as compared to 90.31 per cent boys. “Though certain papers, especially mathematics, were tough, students from our state put up a commendable performance with over 80 per cent of them becoming eligible for admission to professional courses,” Indira Rajan, secretary, Kerala CBSE School Management Association, said. “This year’s Class XII pass outs comprise the first batch of students who have gone through the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system introduced by the CBSE a few years ago,” she said. Under this system, evaluation of students are done at the school-level. The CBSE has launched a 15-day tele-counselling facility, beginning from Monday, aimed at addressing the psychological problems of the students. Principals, trained counsellors and psychologists would conduct tele-counselling for the students. Students can dial toll free number 1800 118 004 from any part of the country to get centralised access to the CBSE tele-helpline. Students can talk to principals or counsellors in case of any result-related anxiety or stress.

The first chance compartmental examination will be held on July 16. “Regular candidates are requested to route their requests through the head of the institution,” a CBSE statement said. The forms for verification of marks would also be available on the Board’s website www.cbse.nic.in. Applications can be made either online from the 6th day or offline within 21 days from the date of declaration of results. The fee will be Rs 200 per subject. “For urgent verification, however, applications can be made online within five days from the date of declaration of results,” the statement said. The fee will be Rs 300 per subject. Fees can be remitted either in cash or through a demand draft favouring the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, payable at the respective regional offices. Applications for the same will be accepted by the Board from the 31st day of the declaration of the results on the website.
