Chennithala’s phone calls were tapped: Sukumaran Nair

Express News Service

In a trenchant attack against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair, on Thursday, disclosed that KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala had informed him that the latter’s telephone calls were tapped with the knowledge of the Home ministry. He was speaking to the media after the conclusion of the NSS leadership meeting at NSS headquarters in Perunna. He alleged that the claim raised by the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) for the deputy chief minister post is similar to the fifth minister imbroglio. However, he said that the NSS would not comment on who should be made the deputy chief minister.

“Ramesh had shared his concerns regarding phone tapping. It is ridiculous for the Home Minister to say that phone tapping had not happened after assigning an officer to conduct an investigation,” Nair said.
