Aryadan Shoukath All Perked up about Election Prospects

MALAPPURAM: Arydan Shoukath appeared upbeat about the prospects of making a grand debut in the Assembly election after his name was figured in the final list of Congress candidates.  First municipal chairman of Nilambur, Shoukath will be up against P V Anawar, the LDF independent candidate from the Nilambur segment.

Shoukath, who became panchayat president in Nilambur, said that he would responsibly carry out the job the party has assigned him in the election.  “I am very much happy that the party has shown  faith in me. I am duty-bound not to disappoint the party. I hope the polls would not be a bad phase. I have enough support from the local people,” Shoukath said.

He also appeared optimistic, saying the Congress would pull off great victory in the election. He said the situation was conducive for the party to retain power.   “If things go according to plan, Congress would retain power,” he said.
