RSP State Secretary Calls Kunjumon 'Backstabber'

Express News Service

KOLLAM: Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) state secretary A A Aziz on Saturday called Kovoor Kunjumon a backstabber and said his performance as a legislative member was dismal. “Kunjumon had cheated not only RSP but also the people of Kunnathur who voted for him. Our party national general secretary had warned him more than once for not turning up at party meetings. As a legislative member, he didn’t raise any questions during his term. At times, he bunked Assembly sessions after checking in the ledger,” he said at the Press Club here. Kovoor Kunjumon quit as MLA on January 28.

Aziz said the former Kunnathur MLA was suspected to be involved in some unethical business.  “He earlier said that the financial sources of Shibu Baby John and N K Premachandran should be subjected to investigation. He claims he lives in a hut during public functions. He was elected MLA thrice. What did he do with 15 years of remuneration he received as a legislative member? Some reliable sources say he often visits Bangalore. I am not going into the details at this point,” Aziz said.
