Rimi Tomy's House Raided

KOCHI: Officials of the Income Tax Department on Thursday conducted raid on the residence of playback singer Rimi Tomy at Edappally here, following allegations of illegal foreign exchange transaction by her.

According to the officers, raids were also conducted on the residence of businessman Madathil Reghu in Kollam and Supreme Court lawyer Vinod Kuttappan in Thiruvananthapuram.

There were complaints that Rimi Tomy transferred to India the remuneration she received for stage shows held in foreign countries without submitting valid documents.    While Rimi was not present in the house when the search was conducted, she arrived there in the evening from Thiruvananthapuram.  The search continued until night. According to the officers, the singer will be subjected to a detailed interrogation later.
