Inditrade to foray into agri loan, microfinance

KOCHI: Formerly known as JRG Companies Ltd, renowned service provider Inditrade is all set to try their hand at agricultural loan and microfinance. Rapidly scaling up its commodity businesses, the firm will provide a loan of Rs 5,000 crore to agriculture and small business entrepreneurs.Inditrade Group chairman Sudheep Bandopadhyay told Express the loan will be provided to customers after depositing their agriculture commodities in the warehouse.

“This is the first time a financial firm is coming up with a helping hand to agriculturists. “We will provide loans for commodities such as pepper, rubber, cardamom, chilly, cotton, coriander among others,” he said.Inditrade Microfinance was launched in April. The company is eyeing townships making strides in a variety of trades and distinguishing themselves from other microfinance organisations, he said.
