MALAPPURAM: Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha and Mar Dionysius College, Pazhanji, advanced to the final of the TNIE GOAL 2017 here Friday.
Come Sunday, the TNIE all-Kerala inter-collegiate football tournament will have a new champion as the sixth edition of the event draws to a close at the Malappuram District Sports Council Stadium, Kottappadi. MD College defeated Christ College, Irinjalakuda 1-0. V P Saneesh scored the winner through a penalty in the sixth minute. In the second semis, two goals each from Abhiram Shaji and Gokuldeep E sealed a 4-0 win for Nirmala College against SN College, Kannur. Christ College and SN College were awarded `10,000 each. GOAL 2017 champions will bag `2 lakh while the runners-up will `Rs 1 lakh.
