Kerala: Couple commits suicide after police question husband on gold-missing case lodged by CPI(M) leader

The couple, who was summoned to the Changanassery police station by Sub-Inspector Shameer Khan on Tuesday following a complaint filed by municipal council member E A Sajikumar was found dead.

KOTTAYAM: In yet another case of embarrassment to the state police, a young couple committed suicide on Wednesday after the husband was questioned in connection with a gold-missing case lodged by a local CPI(M) leader.

The deceased are Sunil Kumar, 31, and Reshma, 27, hailing from Ellampallil House, Puzhavath near Changanassery.

The couple, who was summoned to the Changanassery police station by Sub-Inspector Shameer Khan on Tuesday following a complaint filed by municipal council member E A Sajikumar, was found dead in their rented house at Kannanchira.

Sajikumar runs gold ornament business and Sunil has been working as a goldsmith with him for 12 years.
