THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Urgent action should be taken to ban the SDPI and its activities, senior CPI leader Pannian Raveendran has demanded. The recent murder of SFI leader Abhimanyu is the latest attack by terror outfits on Kerala’s secular mindset, he said. Pannian also condemned attempts to trivialise the incident by dubbing it as a fallout of campus violence. “It’s a premeditated murder where a professional criminal gang was brought in for carrying out the murder.

The culprits and those involved in the issue should be brought before justice,” he said in a Facebook post. According to him,the state was witness to such violence being unleashed by the SDPI in the past also. Murders and communal violence are the main agenda of this terror outfit, he said. “By creating an impression they are the protectors of the Muslim population, they are fuelling Hindu fundamentalism. This organisation is against the Muslim community and secularism. There should be urgent action to ban the operations of this extremist organisation,” Pannian said.
