CUTTACK: Uttam Mohanty, the first mega star of Ollywood and pioneer of single-hero films, has been nominated for the fifth FitFat Bioscope Award 2008.

The superstar of preceding era would be presented with the award replicating a bioscope, which has been instituted by Home Video Entertainment and FitFat, along with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 at a special function at Kala Vikash Kendra on December 15.

As the tradition of the award ceremony evolved, the evening would involve a 90-minute screen and live show on the life and works of Uttam Mohanty.

A documentary on the films of the actor would also be screened, organiser Bapu Lenka said.

The annual award, instituted in 2004, was presented to veteran actor and producer Parbati Ghosh.

The second edition of the award was presented to the showman of Ollywood Prashant Nanda while music director Swarup Nayak won it in 2006. Last year, the award was bestowed on Jayiram Samal, the indomitable comic of Oriya screen.
