The agitation by lawyers over High Court bench demand and activists of Koshal Kranti Dal (KKD) demanding separate Kosal state brought life to a grinding halt here on Monday.
Members of bar associations of Dharamgarh, Junagarh, Jaipatna, M Rampur and Sinapali besides Kalahandi picketed in front of Government offices in support of the HC bench demand. They have decided to take out a rally in Bhawanipatna on Tuesday.
Similarly, KKD activists blocked roads and staged dharnas at several places.

Jharsuguda: Business establishments in Jharsuguda, Brajrajnagar and Belpahar town remained closed on Monday due to the bandh called for separate Koshal state. Trains, however, plied normally.
