The online counselling for Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is scheduled to begin from June 10. The process will continue till June 21.
The selected students have to register themselves for online counselling and provide their choice of colleges.
This year, eight Government engineering colleges and 90 private engineering colleges will take part in OJEE counselling. Twenty-five nodal centres have been selected across the State for counselling. The nodal centres will start functioning from June 13.
The provisional allotment of seats will be done on June 22, 23 and 25. The final list will be published in OJEE website on June 30. The students have to pay `450 as counselling charges.
The Employment and Technical Education and Training (ETET) department has reduced the registration fees from Rs 16,000 last year to Rs 5,000 this year.
It is mandatory for the students to lock their choices in the nodal centres only. The nodal centres have been set up at College of Engineering and Technology (CET), International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), College of IT and Management Education (CIET), BJB Autonomous College and a few other colleges.
The detailed list of the nodal centres has been provided in OJEE’s website.
The State government has taken extra precautions this year to prevent manipulation of engineering seats during counselling.
The ETET department has asked the district officials to deploy police personnel at the nodal centres. Senior officials of the OAS rank will supervise the counselling process in the nodal centres. CCTV cameras have been provided at all nodal centres and choice locking will be recorded.
This year, only those students with OJEE admit cards or the registration cards will be allowed to enter the nodal centres for choice locking. This has been done to ensure that no agent can influence the choice locking on behalf of a student. Another highlight of the counselling this year is the digital signature facility introduced by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for OJEE officials manning the nodal centres.
