OJM demands fiscal autonomy for Odisha

PTI

Odisha Jana Morcha (OJM) today demanded fiscal autonomy for the state as sought by the late Chief Minister Biju Patnaik.

"The legendary Biju Patnaik had demanded fiscal autonomy to Odisha and we too demand that" OJM Vice President Rajendra Singh said here.

Singh claimed that OJM President Pyarymohan Mohapatra had first raised the issue of special category status for Odisha within the party forum when he was a member of BJD in 2007.

Unfortunately, he said, then it did not find favour of the BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who was demanding it now.
