Express News Service

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) which has been confiscating assets and properties of Seashore Group is also examining its past business association with the Odisha Premier League, the country cousin of T20 championship Indian Premier League (IPL) which is currently under the cloud of betting and spot-fixing.

Sources said Seashore Group does not own any franchise but it had picked up telecast rights of the State T20 league during 2009-2010. Its television arm was also the official partner for the tournament. “Our investigation will be focused on the expenditure made by the group for securing the rights,” a senior official of the EOW said.

Interestingly, one of Rajasthan Royals promoter Shilpa Shetty had also appeared as a guest in a function hosted by Seashore Group then. Meanwhile, the EOW on Wednesday sealed two more offices of the group in Angul.
