OAS officers here resorted to pen-down agitation on Wednesday protesting filing of an FIR against Angul BDO at local police station by block chairperson. About 24 BDOs struck work. “We resorted to agitation in protest against misbehaviour and FIR filed by Angul block chairperson against BDO Pratap Pritimaya. We demand immediate withdrawal of the FIR and action against the block chairperson,” said OAS Officers’ Association president and ADM S Barik.

Last week, three FIRs were filed in Angul police station by the BDO, his wife and block chairperson. While the block chairperson, who belongs to scheduled caste, lodged the FIR against the BDO, the BDO’s wife made a complaint against husband of the chairperson. The BDO had filed an FIR against one youth who had allegedly threatened him in his office. Angul SP Narasigh Bhol said investigation is on.
