BJP leaders on Saturday blamed the ruling party and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for irregularities and corruption in various welfare schemes.

BJP leaders on Saturday blamed the ruling party and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for irregularities and corruption in various welfare schemes.

Addressing a gathering, State BJP president KV Singhdeo said the Naveen Patnaik-led State Government is riddled with scams and scandals. BJP is the only alternative for the voters, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, former Rajya Sabha member Rudra Narayan Pany accused Naveen of not showing any interest in learning Odia. BJP leaders including MLA Krushna Chandra Patra, Rama Chandra Patra and Naresh Chandra Mohapatra criticised the BJD Government of making people lethargic by providing them rice at `1-per-kg.

None of the leaders, however, raised any issue pertaining to lack of development in Dhenkanal town.

Dhenkanal Municipality comprises 23 Wards which are replete with problems like sanitation, communication network, health and hygiene.
