Educationist Passes away

BHUBANESWAR:  Noted educationist Prof Bibhuti Bhusan Mohanty died after a brief illness at Cuttack on Saturday. He was 84.

Besides heading the Department of Audio-Visual Communication in IIMC, Mohanty was instrumental in setting up its Dhenkanal campus where he served as the Resident Director for three years. he also served as Professor-Emeritus at Mangalayatan University, Aligarh.

Mohanty was involved in functional literacy and adult education since 1954. He contributed to rural communication, particularly in the art and craft of writing for neo-literates. He was also the founder-director of the State Resource Centre for Adult Education at Angul.
