KENDRAPARA: A 45-year-old Dalit woman has claimed that Satyam Sekhar Raula, the adopted son of self-styled godman Sarathi Baba, is her biological son. She told mediapersons on Thursday that Sarathi Baba had adopted her youngest son 19 years back.

“The adoption was registered in the sub-registrar office in Kendrapara. My husband and I were his followers then and when he approached my husband to adopt Satyam, I had agreed,” she revealed.

The woman said she is worried as her son’s whereabouts are not known after Sarathi escapade was made public. The woman’s husband, who works as a Class IV employee in a nationalised bank in Kendrapara, demanded stringent action against the controversial godman.

In another twist to the Sarathi Baba case, registration documents of a motorcycle seized from the Sarathi ashram on Thursday evening revealed that the two-wheeler belonged to Pravin Kumar Raula, another son of Srimad Sarathi. Crime Branch had seized three four-wheelers and a motorcycle from Sarathi Baba’s ashram at Barimula, on the outskirts of Kendrapara town.

On the other hand, Pravin Raula’s father, Dillip Raula told mediapersons that there is some mistake in the registration document of the two-wheeler.

He said Srimad Sarathi is Pravin’s uncle and the former’s name could have been mistakenly appeared in the registration document.

Crime Branch officials have already seized 20 accounts of Sarathi Baba and his Satyam Charitable Trust in various banks, both nationalised and private. The officials, though, have not been able to open a locker of Sarathi Baba in Kendrapara branch of the SBI.
