Kishori Express to fight anaemia

ANGUL:  After successful implementation in Chhendipada and Banarpal blocks of the district, JSPL Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd, launched Kishori Express programme in Angul block to mark Utkal Divas on Sunday. Collector Anil Kumar Samal flagged off the Kishori Express vehicle in presence of senior district and JSPL officials.

The objective of the programme is to control anaemia among adolescent girls through timely detection and intervention. So far, the programme has covered 171 villages in Chhendipada and 131 in Banarpal block. In September 2017, the DSWO had approved to run the Kishori Express in Angul block. The vehicle will visit 264 anganwadi centres and 41 schools covering 217 villages and Angul Municipality. Co-chairperson of JSPL Foundation Shallu Jindal congratulated the Angul CSR team for their efforts to bring down anaemia level of the adolescent girls through the intervention of Kishori Express.
