Amway renews pact with Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India for skill training in Odisha

In line with the Government’s Skill India initiative, Amway India, the country’s largest direct selling FMCG company has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Retailers Association.

BHUBANESWAR: In line with the Government’s Skill India initiative, Amway India, the country’s largest direct selling FMCG company has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India (RASCI) on Sunday to renew its partnership for the second year in a row.

The renewal of association with RASCI is a step for Amway to reiterate its alignment closely with Skill India initiative and it is a part of Amway’s vision of empowering its direct sellers with credible certification under National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) from RASCI.

Vice-President (Corporate Affairs) of Amway India Rajat Banerji and Executive Head of RASCI James A Raphael signed the MOU in presence of Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan at a function on the occasion of 3rd anniversary of Skill India here. Signing of this MoU will enable Amway to extend the free training for upskilling of its direct sellers. As many as 51,000 direct sellers and retailers will be benefitted and certified under two categories of ‘Individual Sales Professional and ‘Retail Sales Associate’. Last year, more than 6000 Amway direct sellers were certified as ‘Individual Sales Professional’ under this programme.

Speaking on the development, Amway India CEO of Anshu Budhraja said the tie-up with RASCI is focused on building skills and competencies of the direct sellers to help them compete in an evolving entrepreneurship landscape. Amway has also aligned its training strategy by focusing on enhancing skills and competencies of the direct sellers. “Our association with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is aimed at empowering our direct sellers with Government recognised certification in line with Amway’s vision,” he said.

In 2017, Amway also partnered with Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta to offer a special course focused on entrepreneurship and leadership for its identified high potential direct sellers.
Amway has also started working with U-35, targeting students in universities by training them with life skills which will help them foster a learning mindset, take value-based decisions and embrace future with confidence.
