SUNDARGARH: A Home Guard, identified as Nabin Chandra Mahakud (59), was hacked to death on Sunday afternoon following a quarrel over distribution of meat of a sacrificial goat.

Local samiti member and Sundargarh district Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) president Debendra Majhi said a group of villagers, including the victim, had performed a ritual to seek good harvest and a goat was sacrificed as per practice.
