RSS connects with 30 lakh families in Odisha under Gruha Sampark campaign

BHUBANESWAR: As part of the RSS centenary year celebrations, Sangh swayamsevaks have reached out to around 30 lakh families under Gruha Sampark campaign in Odisha.

RSS Odisha Purva Prant Sanghachalak Samir Kumar Mohanty said through this campaign, RSS swayamsevaks engaged with members of society, explaining the aims and objectives of the Sangh and encouraged their participation in nation-building activities. He informed that various programmes such as Hindu Sammelan, Yuva Sammelan and Samajik Sadbhav meetings were organised.

These initiatives were centred on the concept of Panch Parivartan (five-fold transformation) comprising, Samajik Samarasata (social harmony), Parivar Prabodhan (family awareness), Paryavaran Suraksha (environmental protection), Swa Jagaran (self-awakening), and Nagarik Kartavya (civic responsibility).

In Odisha, Hindu Sammelans were held at 1,398 locations, Yuva Sammelans at 73 places and Samajik Sadbhav meetings at 227 venues.

The programmes witnessed significant public participation across the state, Mohanty said. He said currently, there are 88,949 daily shakhas and 32,606 weekly milans across the country. In Odisha, 3,041 daily shakhas are conducted at 2,516 locations, along with 580 weekly milans at 498 places. Seva (service) activities are being carried out in 13,714 bastis including 196 in Odisha, he added.

Mohanty said like previous year, 96 Sangh training camps are scheduled to be held across the country this year, including three in Odisha. These camps will also be part of Sangh centenary programme and emphasis will be on the expansion of shakha activities, he added.
