Express News Service

The Vellore unit of the Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangam has appealed to the state government to establish a copra procurement centre at Gudiyattam. A resolution in this regard was adopted at the executive council meeting held at Gudiyattam on Sunday chaired by its president T C Jaganathan.

The members noted that Gudiyattam had high concentration of coconut cultivation but farmers were not getting good prices. If the government established a procurement centre, it would help farmers sell the produce for a good price.
