The Opposition AIADMK on Tuesday urged the Lieutenant Governor to order a judicial probe into the police lathi-charge on the retrenched government employees at the PWD office here on Monday.

AIADMK local unit secretary A Anbazhagan said that the Chief Minister didn’t keep his word on re-instatement of employees, which was announced in the Assembly, due to political reasons. In the last two years, there have been cases of workers committing suicide.

On the other hand, Rangasamy has been engaging people from his constituency to work in the government undertakings. Over 400 people were provided jobs in Indira Gandhi Medical College, Ponalit and other places, charged the AIADMK leader. He demanded that the workers  be re-instated immediately and the cases filed against the workers be withdrawn.
