Krishnasamy barred from entering Ramnad

The district administration has invoked section 144 of the CrPC to ban the entry of Puthiya Tamilagam founder president K Krishnasamy into the district.

Superintendent of Police Mylvahanan said that the party had sought permission to observe fast in five different places, including Peraiyur, Sikkal, Pullanthai, Devipattinam and Chattrakudi, to urge the government to fulfil certain demands.

One of their demands was to have a government function on the memorial day of Dalit leader Immanuel Sekaran. Krishnasamy was supposed to take part in the fast.

Therefore, based on instructions District Collector Nantha Kumar, revenue officialrs imposed the order banning the entry of Krishnasamy and his fast as well.

The prohibitory order would be in force for two months, he added.
