DMK MLA Anitha threatens trade union leader, booked

Express News Service

Tiruchendur MLA, Anitha R Radhakrishnan was booked by the Tiruchendur police for issuing a murder threat and using unparliamentary words against a trade union office-bearer here on Sunday.

Sources said Anitha Radhakrishnan organised a two-day rangoli contest as part of the birthday celebrations of DMK treasurer M K Stalin, at the VOC grounds in Tiruchendur. A large number of contestants registered for the competition.

But, the top soil of the venue got badly damaged in the heavy rain that lashed the district last week. The location unfit for holding the rangoli competition. So he had ordered to bring sand from a government land for which no proper permission was obtained.

Meanwhile, a senior revenue official of Tiruchendur, who conducted an inspection of the ground, reportedly questioned the MLA about the place from where the sand was brought and whether all legal process was followed.

Then MLA, who was upset over this, suspected that Muthalipa, president of the Anna Trade Union, must have passed on the information to the officials.

Radhakrishan called Muthalipa over phone and allegedly scolded and threatened to murder him.
