The Katpadi Police on Monday arrested a 48-year-old man, an employee of the Katpadi Court, for allegedly molesting his neighbour’s 11-year-old daughter.
Mohandoss, a resident of Uthukottai in Tiruvalluvar district, a junior assistant in the Katpadi Court, resides in a rented house in Gandhi Street at Dharapadavedu. His family lives in their native place. The incident took place around 6 am on Monday when the girl had gone to a nearby shop to get milk. Mohandoss asked the girl to come to his house. Initially she refused, when he allegedly threatened her, she went to his house where he molested her.
After returning home, the girl told her parents about the incident. Angry family members of the girl and their neighbours beat Mohandoss and handed him over to the Katpadi Police. The police registered a case against Mohandoss and lodged him in the Vellore Central Prison for Men.
