48-year-old man held for molesting 11-year-old girl

The Katpadi Police on Monday arrested a 48-year-old man, an employee of the Katpadi Court, for allegedly molesting his neighbour’s 11-year-old daughter.

Mohandoss, a resident of Uthukottai in Tiruvalluvar district, a junior assistant in the Katpadi Court, was residing  in a rented house in Gandhi Street at Dharapadavedu. His family was living in their native place.

The incident took place around 6 am on Monday when the girl had gone to a nearby shop to get milk.

Mohandoss asked the girl to come to his house. Initially the girl refused. However, when he allegedly threatened the girl, she  went to his house. Following this, he molested her.

After returning home, the girl informed her parents about the incident.

The angry family members of the girl and their neighbours beat Mohandoss and handed him over to the Katpadi Police.

The police registered a case against Mohandoss under Sections 354, 506 (i) of IPC (read with Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012).

After this, Mohandoss was lodged in the Vellore Central Prison for Men.
