The introduction of online applications by the Centralised Admission Committee for admissions in professional colleges this academic year has not only made the process simpler for the students but also created profit to the tune of Rs 3 lakh to the government.

Nearly Rs 3 lakh has been saved by the government by doing away with printing of application forms, information bulletin and code sheets. By taking the e-route, they did not have to pay commission to agencies for the sale of the application forms, official sources said.

So far, 9,543 applications have been received from students, with the last date for receipt of applications being May 10. Thereafter, the details of the candidates will be available on the Centac website, which can be accessed by the students with their individual registration number. The students can check the details of the application and the related documents attached, sources added.

If they spot any anomaly, the students can approach the Centac office and get it corrected, said officials.
