White paper on SC sub-plan sought

Express News Service

Organising secretary of the VCK, Su Paavaanan, has urged the Territorial administration to release a white paper on the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP).

In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Secretary, Chetan B Sanghi, the VCK leader reiterated the demand to publish the details of the quantum of funds allotted under SCSP, schemes implemented, projects/works undertaken, the total amount spent and the number of SC beneficiaries during the past 10 years.

The VCK leader, after his meeting with the chief secretary, brought to his notice the diversion of funds allotted under SCSP to general schemes. He made an appeal to frame rules/guidelines for constituting committees to monitor the implementation of the scheme. He also said that the panel should have members of Dalit outfits or registered/recognised political parties, who are well-versed with SCSP schemes.
