4 Parties Join to Challenge KMDK Man

Express News Service

Four parties on Tuesday decided to campaign against Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi general secretary E R Eswaran for cheating the public. Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam (KNMK) president ‘Best’ Ramasamy alleged that Eswaran filed his nomination papers concealing two pending criminal cases in his affidavit.

“We will put this issue before the public wherever possible and our community members will ask the public not to vote for Eswaran,” said Ramasamy.

Sources said that though Eswaran’s nomination papers were accepted in Pollachi on Monday, the petition filed by an advocate demanding cancellation of his nomination paper is still pending with the Election Commission. The EC will make its decision in this regard soon.

Various parties belonging to Gounder communities on Tuesday have extended support to the AIADMK for the elections.

The representatives of KNMK, Tamil Nadu Kongu Ilaignar Peravai, Kongu Vellalar Gounder Peravai and Dheeran Chinnamalai Peravai convened a meeting in the city on Tuesday and decided to support the AIADMK candidates.
