The Lok Sabha election is a fight between the BJP and the Congress and not between the AIADMK and the DMK, said comedian-turned-politician S Ve Sekar. He said this while addressing a group of reporters here on Friday.
Sekar, who had been nominated to the propaganda wing of the BJP, had come to campaign for the party candidate A C Shanmugam.
He said the wrong policies of the Congress had landed the party in trouble and people were ready to throw the party out of power.
On the other hand, people had decided to support Modi as the next Prime Minister, who was ready to provide a corruption-free and clean administration, he added.
While 70 per cent of the electorate were neutral and 30 per cent were affiliated to political parties, 60 per cent had decided on Modi as the next Prime Minister, he added. The maximum number of cases of communal riots had taken place during the Congress rule while nothing was reported during the earlier BJP rule. Branding BJP as against minorities was totally wrong as it was truly secular, he said.
Gujarat was like Japan, which had emerged as a model State in the country. There were no power cuts, no freebies but the State was doing well in all fields, after electing Modi as the Chief Minister thrice, Sekar added further.
In Tamil Nadu, BJP combine was the strongest group as people here were not interested in the blame-game played by both the AIADMK and the DMK. It was wrong on the part of the DMK to describe this alliance as ‘communal forces.’ Secularism for such parties is talking against Hindus, he noted.
Sekar called upon the cine actors to behave politely in public while commenting on fellow actors, who had turned into politicians.
