Karaikal Neglected in UT Budget KSG

Express News Service

NAGAPATTINAM: The Karaikal Struggle Group (KSG) has flayed the UT government for not allotting substantial funds for the socio-economic growth of Karaikal enclave.

“It is unfortunate to find no exclusive funds sanctioned for the socio-economic development of Karaikal enclave in 2015-16 budget,” KSG founder and organiser Selvashanmugham told mediapersons here on Thursday.

The KSG has also condemned the N R Congress Government for neglecting the demand of Karaikal locals who wanted the multispecialty hospital project in Karaikal district to be expedited. Though the foundation stone for the super specialty hospital along with one medical college at an estimated cost of `450 crores was laid near Koilpathu in 2014, the work to establish it continues to be at a snail’s pace, he said.
