Three Fresh Cases of Swine Flu Reported in Coimbatore

The new cases were from Annur, about 35 km from here, Saibaba Colony, and K K Pudur in the city.

COIMBATORE: Three fresh cases of swine flu were today reported in various parts of the district, officials said.

The persons concerned have been admitted to the Government Hospital here, where 15 are already undergoing treatment for the flu.

Swine flu has claimed six lives, majority of them women, in the area since beginning of the year, hospital officials said.

The new cases were from Annur, about 35 km from here, Saibaba Colony, and K K Pudur in the city, they said. Tamil Nadu Health Minister C VIjayabhaskar and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, J Radhakrishnan, had reviewed the situation in the hospital last night.

During the review meeting, it was informed that of 341 persons who tested positive for H1N1 virus, 11 have died across the state, of which seven had diseases like diabetes, asthma and heart ailments.
