Chennai traffic ‘worse than during last year’s floods’, as CM Jayalalithaa’s health critical

As panic sets in, people have been leaving offices early and are trying to stock up on groceries and petrol, worrying that in the next few days the situation may worsen and leave stocks unavailable. This has caused heavy traffic on the city’s roads

·         Several IT firms and other companies have asked employees to leave office early, resulting in hordes of people on the roads,  jamming traffic

·         People trying to get provisions say milk and bread have run out in most shops at Ramapuram and Nandambakkam. Traffic close to DLF IT Park "worse than during the floods," they say.
