PERAMBALUR: Launching a veiled attack at the Opposition and O Panneerselvam faction, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said forces that were trying hard to destablise and pull down the AIADMK government would not succeed as it enjoyed the support of people and elected representatives. He made this comment while speaking at the birth centennary celebrations of AIADMK founder and former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran in Perambalur on Saturday.

Describing Perambalur, which is spread over 1.75 lakh hectares, as best suited for agriculture, Palaniswami said aid worth `94.75 crore has been distributed to 9,102 beneficiaries in the district in one year under several government schemes. Announcing new projects for the district, the Chief Minister said  a new bridge would be constructed at a cost of `14 crore to connect Thiruvalandhurai with Keelakalpoondi.
