CHENNAI: Fulfilling the second demand of AIADMK (Puratchi Thalaivi Amma) for holding talks on the merger, chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday announced that an enquiry commission headed by retired judge of Madras High Court would be constituted to probe the death of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

Further, the residence of Jayalalithaa in Poes Garden will be made a government memorial.

Announcing this at a hurriedly convened press meet at the secretariat, the chief minister said the enquiry commission was being constituted following requests from many organisations and from various quarters raising suspicions about the death of Jayalalithaa.

Palaniswami said there had been many requests for making the residence of Jayalalithaa as a public memorial so that the people would know about her achievements and her sacrifices made for the public.
