CHENNAI: VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan has moved the Madras High Court to order a court-monitored probe by CBI into the police firing at Thoothukudi against Sterlite protesters. A division bench of Justices R Subbaiah and C Saravanan, before which the petition came up for hearing on Friday, adjourned the matter to June 25.

After narrating the details of the incidents, Thirumavalavan submitted that the police, without any warning and following the procedure, had opened fire and killed 13 and injured hundred others. It clearly demonstrated human rights violation.
