CHENNAI: A student of the Government Industrial Training Institute at Guindy here was found dead with injury marks on his body that was slightly decomposed on the institute campus on Sunday.  M Sivakumar, 22, of Guduvanchery, was missing for the last two days and police said there were cut injuries on his chest and neck.

In the second year of the hotel management course and a hosteller, he was not seen by his classmates and hostel mates. They assumed Sivakumar had gone home for the weekend, but neither did he come home nor was he found in the hostel.

“His father told us that he believed his son to be in the hostel and that he was busy with projects as he did not speak over phone. The body was found on the campus amidst bushes by security guards who went to locate the source of a foul smell,” said a senior police officer.
