Vellore man dies of swine flu in Chennai

The deceased, Ramamoorthy G (43), was admitted to Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore on October 12, following severe fever.

VELLORE:  A 43-year-old man from Gudiyattam in Vellore died of swine flu, at a private hospital in Chennai on Saturday evening. The deceased, Ramamoorthy G (43), was admitted to Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore on October 12, following severe fever. Since his condition did not improve, he was shifted to a private hospital in Chennai.

Later, Ramamoorthy was tested positive for swine flu, and died at the hospital on Saturday. The patient’s death certificate from the hospital mentioned that Ramamoorthy had expired on October 27 at 4.54 pm. As a preventive step, Health department officers have administered ‘Contact Treatment’ to the close relatives of the deceased person for ten days.
